Always be moving (Σ=49)
November 13 5k Downsview Airport 5k 15 min to get to, sunny, nice flat race, enough runway, and not too cold for November. Great way to start the week.
November 12 5k Jelly Bean Run Water station had: water, tissues and Jelly Beans. What a service. Newmarket is always a great place to race.
October 23 5k MEC Toronto Race 7 5k. 4th MEC race of the year. Favorite is still Kortright.
October 22 5k Toronto Women’s 8k/5k About 30F or 15C colder than the Scotiabank race. Time for gloves.
October 16 5k Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Last year it was about 2C. This year 18C. Warmer than Zoo Run in September. Nice.
October 9 10k Munich Marathon Public transit is free to this race. TTC take notice. Also you can take subway before 8am on Sunday.
October 2 5kish Run for the Cure No bibs, but free parking and run through a park that I have never been to.
October 1 5k West Rouge Fun Run 5k West Rouge A little windy along the lake. Not a run if you worry about a bad hair day.
September 25 5k Run for Vaughan Time for light gloves and long sleeves.
September 24 5k Oasis Zoo Run After 10 flat races one with no flat stretch at all.
September 18 5k Island Girl The island is flat. Sort of like the airport run, but more scenic.
September 17 5k Toronto 10 Miler Driving on a parkway and parking on the driveway. DVP (Don Valley Parkway) is parking on a parkway.
September 11 5k MEC Race 6 If MEC wasn’t in downtown Toronto, I’d even buy something there.
September 10 5k 8pm Nightrace Given the heat, didn’t even mind the drizzle.
September 10 Toronto 5k 8am race. Back before rest of family up. Feeling smug.
August 28 5k Smiles Run Lots of of smiling helpers
August 27 5k Toronto Women’s 10k/5k I was about to purchase another hat. This race saved me the trip.
August 21 5k trail Dash to Defeat Dementia If you love grass, (tree) roots and wooden bridges (paths), this trail is for you (that climbing wall on the tree was not part of the race).
August 20 5k Carrot Fast Hot and flat. And I missed the part on the web site that said: BYO water.
August 7 5k Mercedes Benz Summer 5k 400m flat, 2k up, 2k down, 600m flat (40 floors according to activity tracker)
July 24 7k trail. MEC Summer Race at Kortright Never been to a MEC race that I have not liked. Cameron Dempster and his crew, I thank you.
July 23 5k Night Nation Another 1st. Fenced in area, including porta potties. Security check in lines, checking for… weapons?
July 22 5k Angus Glen Summer 5 Miler or 3 miler. 3rd year in a row. Guess I like the course and everything about this race.
July 16 5k Foam Fest Fun Obstacle The obstacle course for everybody who wants to try out an obstacle course. In Ski resort running (or walking) up and down ski slopes. No penalty burpees.
July 2nd 5k Pride & Remembrance Run I wanted to see, if I could beat our premier, but she wasn’t there.
June 27 5k Tottenham Community Celebration Sort of 1/2 trail. Nice change.
June 26 5k Race for Huntington Starting at 10 am in the summer makes for a hot race.
June 25 10k Toronto Waterfront 10k 2nd timer right after 7k?? Oh, yeah ensure nobody took a shortcut. Great Race.
June 12 5k Spring Fling Green on purple not a very good contrast. Everything else as expected from Excel Running series.
June 11 5k Run 4 Women Thunder, lightning and rain at 4am. 8am, great weather.
June 5 5k Unionville It had stopped raining, but a few puddles were unavoidable.
June 4 5k Muscle Milk Bronte Park. A first. Nice race. Gravel. Not for minimalist shoes.
May 22 5k Whitby WIN Great path, ample parking, real washrooms. And not in the water as Google Maps suggests.
May 15 5k Cross The Line . Hope they have it next year. I’ll be in.
May 15 2k Toronto Health and Fitness Challenge For most of the day: Hail, Rain and Sun on some strange rotation. Nature’s version of a web slideshow.
May 8 10k Sporting Life Calendar says May. It took my hands to 2km before they got warm.
May 7 5k Run for Women – Unionville Saturday morning and in TO road closures and construction are us.
May 1 5k Backs in Motion 4th year. Worst part about running in the rain. Glasses.
April 30 5k-8k or so. Fork in the Road 5k Life is full of tough choices. So is this trail run. You pick the ‘wrong’ forks and get a longer workout. All for the price of the 5k entry fee. Great Trail.
April 17 5k Lovely Spring Run Weather almost made it summerly. Not that I am complaining about that. Car is almost self driving going to Martin Goodman Trail. At least at 7am on a Sunday.
April 16 WWF CN Tower Climb Had to give this a try. Very well organized. Not sure if it was more difficult to climb the 1700+ steps or to work in coat/bag check.
April 2 5k Beaches Spring Sprint. One of the nice things about race in 3C with a few hundred participants vs 20,000 (Yonge Street). No waiting around for an hour and freezing.
March 26 5k Easter Dash. 2 days after the ice storm. At least it was only dripping water not ice any more.
March 13 5k. St.Patrick’s Day Run . The only green you can see in Toronto in March.
February 27 5k Move Your Paws Fastest zoo visit ever. Run past lions and mountain goats.
January 24 5k MEC Toronto Run 1. 400+ runners on Sunday morning at 9am at -8C. Warming up mostly by staying indoors. Nice fast route.
January 23 5k-ish. Poker Run Running Room. Nice hill included. Apart from the fact that it was it was a little chilly, great weather and no ice and snow.
January 9 5k for me. 6 hours on 235m indoor track for most of the hard core runners.
January 1 5k-ish Running Room Resolution Run. Feels like -8C. At least this time the organizer did not say ‘let’s go outside to warm up’.
