Eliminating a Problem

Problem:
Multi part form, last copy was not readable
Why it mattered::
End Users in department were unhappy that they could not do their job properly
Characters:

Suggestions for resolution:

  • Buy a new printer
  • Use email instead of multi-part form
  • Update database that users had access to

Solution:
Analysis of how the data in the department was used showed that the information was redundant, no longer relevant, or already in the system.
Summary:
No design, coding and implementation, and more time for the users in the department to get other work done. Processes and procedures have to be checked on a regular basis – especially after new or additional systems come on-line – to check for relevance of procedures.
