Excel toTM1 Application

Problem:
Incentive application designed in Excel that using 10+ interconnected worksheets. The worksheets had to be updated, and there was only one user (the designer) who understood the worksheets.
Why it mattered:
Yearly reporting only. Incentive recipients did not get feedback during the year to see how well they were performing. Worksheets were difficult to maintain and update.

Attempts at Resolution
Create Access database and queries. This did not give enough flexibility with criteria change maintenance and accessibility.
Solution
Created TM1 solution where all necessary input data was imported via ODBC from SQL server sources, accessed from existing TM1 applications or imported from non SQL outside resources.
Summary
TM1 period dimensions allowed monthly progress reporting. The Web distribution gives qualified users access to their information and allows updates via the internet.
